Finding Philup was the first movie that was ever attempted, even before we had the name A.S.A.P. Films....  It was a thought that came to me long before the computer and camcorder were even around, the computer hadnt even crossed my mind yet.  After writing the first couple scenes I never thought that it would be more then a year before we would get to the end of it.  Or what we would call the end, in truth it was going to long, so we made it a cliff hanger...

The plot was short and to the point but the actual movie was more indepth, about 1.5 hours to much indepth...  Each scene was writen fully during boring clases, MATH....  That might have been the first problem, I went to indepth in the scenes, making them way to long... 

For the beggining script, I refrased the beggining to black hawk down, it was the refrases writing with the same song to it...  Since we didn't have an editing system we filmed the computers power point presentation...  It was impressivly good, considering... 

Filming of Finding Philup was not that pretty, I only filmed two, at a max, scenes when people came over.  That was a major mistake, doing it that way was what took the longest.  Then when we got the computer and editing system I put everything that was already complete through the VCR, on the computer and redid everything...  That killed me, and thats why it ended in a cliff hanger.

Finding Philup taught us the absolutes to filming, down to how to film, angles to get, actors to use, length of scenes, better plots, ect...  This movie is good because it shows how much progress we made...

A governer, Tiny Philup, is put in a metal institution for cruel and unusal treatment of his people.  Locked up so that he can not do any more harm....

     Now nine years later he escapes from the institution.  He flees the scene and is lost.  The government, trying to find him calls apon his twin brother, Jairmy Philup...  A retired FBI agent, Jairmy sets fourth, with little hope and only one plan of action.  He decides that he will go to each of Tiny's retarded friends, like the retarded hunter, Rafeal DeBorsheo or the crazy truck attacker...  All is well, the retarded friends do put Jairmy in weird and bad situations but closer to Tiny untill.....one of Tiny's enemies, R'Min A. Sling finds out that Jairmy is on the case as well...  Trying to find Tiny first, R'Min A Sling send assasins like Jerry Thorg and hires the crazy truck driver to take out Jairmy...  They all fail!!!  Jairmy defeats them all, so R'Min sends the last resort, Gold Bond....  With Gold Bond on his tail, Jairmy is fighting to not be killed and looking for Tiny!!!  Will Jairmy find Tiny, will Gold Bond get Jairmy, will Tiny become governer again, will deforestation wipe out tropical forests????!!!!  All questions we wonder... 

I think that the Editing for this movie can be classified in three different stages...

PHASE 1-Finding Philup, being our first movie taught us many, many things.  We started out with no editing system, no computer capable of a editing system...  Instead we used the VCR to piece things together, which really SUCKED!!!  We learned that you can put head phones to the micro phone of the camera and play songs in through a cd player....

PHASE 2-We now have learned that all of our old methods SUCKED horribly!!!  We learned that you can audio dub (through the camcorder, no editing system yet) songs over your video which was a lot better...  We learned what were good angles to take and our acting skills improved. 

PHASE 3-Now we learned that all of out old methods SUCKED horribly!!!  We now got a new computer and an editing system. With this all of our old methods were gone!!!  Now we put sounds in through that system and arranged it through that as well!!!  The movie was finished/redone on that program!!!

For the first 5 months or so I had no computer and really didnt consider getting one, its when I faced that horrible linear editing with the VCR that I craved an editing system, even ArcSoft would do, but that didnt come in time and I faught through the whole thing using very primative technics.  I filmed Powerpoint presentations for the text scenes, I filmed Nates Tv while it played Finding Philup and put earphones with the music I wanted over the mic...  I some how figured out a way to stop a CD player that was playing into the Camera mic and pic it up again for a new scene...  It really was insane...  Finding Philup has got to be, next to Halite, ASAP Films biggest editing Advancement, the whole movie itself is, not certain parts like Halite, the entire movie is just a huge step ladder.  It really is kind of amazing to see what we have now compared to what I was using just 2 years ago...  This movie taught me everything, the movie itself may not be that good but with out it, ASAP Films probably would not exsist.

The soundtrack consists of a lot of Blackhawk Down and Gladiator music.  There are a lot of songs in this 1 1/2 hour movie that ends in a cliff hanger...  There are so many songs that it's kind of to much.  Eventually I had to slim every thing down.  The songs are good just too many!!!
